We could use assistance from people who have expertise in the following areas:
Does this sound masochistically interesting?
Database abstraction/layer integration
HTDB uses a home-brewed database abstraction layer built to MySQL and mSQL native
APIs. Ideally, this layer needs to be replaced with a more extensible database
layer with support for more databases. If you have experience in database abstraction
layers (in C), we'd love to hear from you!
Update: libdbi looks to be a nice piece of work, and libhtdb may move
to using that as the database abstraction layer.
Compiler writers and/or Flex/Bison gurus
The HTDB scripting language is written in C and a bit of a beast to maintain - it needs
to be replaced with a proper parser. Part of this project will be upgrading the current
language syntax to a completely tag-based (ala XML) format.
